Andalucia: Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras

View of the Sierra Nevada

The Sierra Nevada are the highest mountain range on the Iberian peninsula, rising south of Granada, and capped by the high but easily walked mountain Mulhacen (3483m). The Alpujarras are the smaller but beautiful range between the Sierra Nevada and the Costa del Sol. They comprise a varied mountain environment of drier  lower slopes, white washed villages including the highest village in Spain, Trevalez, and higher meadows with generally easily accessible rounded high peaks, often with patches of snow long into summer.

I have trekked and have experience in leading groups in the Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras and have ascended Mulhacen in mid winter. Of course, visits to the fascinating cities and villages of Andalucia can be arranged, including: Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Arcos de la Fronterra and Doñana National Park.

I devise itineraries to suit customers requirements. Typically we would stay in pleasant local hotels and bed and breakfasts, though camping is possible.
